Title: D&M Productions rebrand

Date: October 27, 2019

Fonts: Modified Big John

Story: For those of you that don’t know, I run a YouTube channel with my friend. We make stupid sketches with VFX. Our original logo was built four years ago in Microsoft Publisher and it used a generic font. As you can imagine, it didn’t look very good. This is what I came up with as a reboot.

Principles: I’m a big fan of this design for two reasons. The first is that it’s nostalgic. Take a look at the original version:

You can clearly see some similarities between the original and the reboot- the color schemes are similar and they both consist of letters inside a circle- which is always a good idea when you’re doing a branding for a pre-existing company/client. The second reason I like the design is that it looks three-dimensional without sacrificing simplicity. I used two crescent-moon shapes, rotated them into a circle, and then darkened the second one, which creates a similar effect to the one we discussed in the last post.

That’s all for today! See you tomorrow! 👋
